Best Time to Trek

The ideal seasons for the Everest High Passes Trek are spring (April-May) and autumn (September-November). These seasons provide clear skies, moderate temperatures, and excellent mountain views. The weather is not too hot during the day, making the trek more enjoyable.

Winter brings heavy snowfall, especially at higher altitudes, and many passes are blocked until early March. Therefore, the best time to begin the trek is mid-March during the spring season when conditions are optimal.

Difficulty Level

This trek is physically demanding due to the high altitude and rugged terrain. You will need to cross three high passes, each above 5,000 meters, with steep ascents and descents along the way. A high level of physical fitness is essential for this journey, but even beginners can attempt it with proper preparation. For beginners, incorporating daily cardio exercises such as jogging, walking, and running into your routine will help prepare you for the trek.

Altitude sickness is a concern as you ascend above 4,000 meters. To ensure your safety, your guides will monitor your progress closely, provide acclimatization tips, and carry essential medications, including Diamox and an oximeter. Our experienced guides will ensure that your trek is safe and enjoyable.

The Everest Base Camp trip takes as little as 12 days to accomplish, but if you want to experience the adventure to the utmost, you can take the 16-day typical trip.

The Everest Base Camp Trek takes you to the base camp of Mount Everest (8,848 meters), located at an altitude of 5,364 meters (17,598 feet) in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It offers spectacular views of the world's highest peak and surrounding mountains.

The best times to trek are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). These months offer stable weather and clear views, making for better trekking conditions.

A good level of physical fitness is required, as the trek involves long days of walking on varied terrain and significant altitude gain. Regular cardio and strength training exercises are recommended in preparation.

While it is possible to trek independently, hiring a guide is highly recommended for safety, navigation, and cultural insights.

  - You will need two permits:

     - Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) card

- Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit

Accommodation ranges from basic tea houses to more comfortable lodges. Expect shared bathrooms and basic amenities. In higher altitude areas, options may be more limited.

Tea houses offer a variety of meals, including traditional Nepali dishes (Dal Bhat), pasta, noodles, and some Western options. It’s advisable to stick to cooked foods to avoid stomach issues.

Yes, altitude sickness is a significant risk on this trek. Symptoms can include headaches, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. Proper acclimatization, hydration, and descending if symptoms occur are crucial.

   - To minimize the risk:

     - Ascend gradually.

     - Stay hydrated.

     - Avoid alcohol and smoking.

     - Consider medications like Acetazolamide (Diamox) after consulting with a doctor.

If you feel unwell, inform your guide immediately. Depending on the severity, you may need to descend to a lower altitude
